Was George Washington a Deist?

Was George Washington the father of our country a Deist, someone that thought God set things in motion but is not involved in the affairs of men. This is one of the most outrageous claims of our modern Deconstructionist. They believe history is just a subjective narrative by those who hold power, and true power is in the hands of those who control knowledge and culture, especially education. They use unfair moral equivalencies against our Classic John Locke Western Liberalism and its foundation the Bible. Individual rights, Free Markets, Property Rights, Natural Law, Self-Determination, Personal Responsibility, Scottish Common Sense Realism and the Bible are the foundation of our country. The Post Modern Existential Socialist Social Warrior Woke Cult of modern intellectuals believes history not only records culture but also influences it. By erasing and smearing our past, they believe they can shape our future and human nature itself.

A brief examination of Washington’s writings and you will see his constant references to Divine Providence’s intervention in the war for independence and formation of our country, so much so he says a person that did not see it must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith. That alone disqualifies him from being a Deist on its own merits.

Washington went to church his whole life. He ordered his troops to attend Sunday services and behave as Christian Soldiers. He calls the Christian religion our religion repeatedly. Washington’s secretary and his adopted son both said they saw him in prayer and reading his Bible and believed it was his daily habit. Washington also proclaimed national days of prayer 7 times and fasting 3 times during his presidency. Washington didn’t throw the name of our Lord Jesus Christ around a lot is true, but in the Anglican tradition of his time they preferred to keep his name separate and Holy.

Most of the State governments had established churches and religious tests to hold office even after the ratification of the Constitution. When the disestablishment movement was trying to remove state churches, Washington was against it in Virginia. It was the late 1800s before the last state church was disestablished and some states had religious tests as late as the 1960s! The Bible is the most quoted book of our founders. On top of all this Martha, his wife and his friends said he was a Christian, but our modern revisionist know better, he must have been a Deist, unbelievable, and lies. Our Cult of Post Modern Marxist Existential Socialist Educators believes there is no truth and lies are Ok if it benefits the group.

When King George III heard Washington would lay down power and retire to his farm, he said, “If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world.” I agree, George Washington was one of the greatest Christian men in history. Our Christian culture and society produced many great people and established our great Nation and Western Civilization! That is why the Post Modern Existential Socialist Cult and their 200 years of failed Socialism ending in Despotism, Tyranny, Starvation and Death hates it.
